HOW TO ENSURE GOOD PHYSICAL HEALTH DURING TEENAGE

Health as stated by many is the state of being free from illness or injury. But health is more than the absence of disease. Health is a state of physical, mental, and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, it says. It is the key to living a productive and satisfying life.

Health as a concept can be broken down into various categories. These could include physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral health. As a teenager the body goes through thousand of changes. It is very important to stay healthy as a teen. Here are a few things you must pay special attention to :

  • Exercise regularly. Teens should be physically active at least for 60 minutes of every day. Don’t start regular gym weight exercises at an early age as this might hinder with our growth. The best is to play an outdoor sport like basketball,swimming etc.
  • Eat a healthy diet. Healthy eating is an important part of your growth and development. Hate it or love it but green leafy vegetables are the only power pills that will help you grow and glow.
  • Maintain a healthy weight. Teenagers with obesity are more likely to have obesity as an adult. They are also at higher risk of other chronic diseases like diabetes and cholesterol issues.
  • Get enough sleep. Most teens need between 8 and 9 ½ hours of sleep every night. Many average only 7 hours. Sleep has a strong effect on your ability to concentrate and do well at school.
  • Track your nutrient intake. Macros and micros must always be taken care of as the go inside your body. Always be aware of the amount of fats, protein and carbs going into your body.
